Brilliant lab grown rubies, sapphires, emeralds, alexandrites, and diamonds.
Physically, chemically, and optically identical to their natural counterpart!
High-pressure-high-temperature (HPHT) is one of
the two main methods used to create lab grown
diamonds. HPHT allows diamonds to grow from 14
different directions just as a natural diamond would.
The HPHT diamond formation process begins
with a small diamond seed (a thin layer cut from
a natural diamond) that is placed into pure carbon.
The diamond seed is exposed to intense
pressure (up to 70,000 atmospheric pressures)
and heat (more than 1,300° C).
The carbon melts and a diamond
begins to form around the seed.
The substance is carefully cooled to fully form.
The diamond is then ready to be cut,
polished, and set into jewelry.
The recrystallization process is used
for goodmark’s colored gemstones including
Alexandrite, Emerald, Ruby, and Blue Sapphire.
No oil, gas, or color is used in the process
of making goodmark gemstones.
The natural rough from a stone is mined
from the earth.
The rough is then crushed to powder.
The imperfections are removed from the powder.
We use a hot solvent to dissolve
any remaining imperfections (inclusions),
further purifying the gemstone seed.
As the solvent cools, it recrystallizes
to form a flawless solid gemstone.
The gemstone is then cut, polished, and perfectly set.
